Dear William Plant,

I have now returned from a year’s Research and Study Leave and am catching up on delayed correspondence. I did indeed receive a copy of Chicken Bone Recoveries, which was the result of your studies, and have had occasion since to consult it once or twice, and have a student looking at it now. Thus we would be most interested to receive your supplement to it, if you could spare one.

I did indeed follow in Jim Specht’s footsteps and continued with a further excavation last year in his site 8 at Watom. The results were very successful. But I have not yet analysed the bone, though I will this year. We definitely have more pig, so more chicken would not surprise me. I will let you know in due course.

With all best wishes.

Yours sincerely,

Dr R.C. Green,
Professor in Prehistory
